Welcome to Beta testing

Thank you for participating in the closed beta of EventBid.

​

EventBid is an intelligence platform designed to help destinations, venues and event suppliers identify confirmed events and potential bid opportunities globally.

​

EventBid has been built from the ground up specifically for the business events industry. It is not an existing platform that has been adapted or layered with additional tools. Because of this, the search engine is currently learning how event opportunities are described across sectors, regions and event types.

​

This beta represents the foundation training phase of the platform. During this period, search results may sometimes be limited, unexpected, or different from what you might expect from a fully mature system.

​

Your searches during beta play an important role in helping the platform learn and improve.

​

Please run searches that are relevant to your organisation, including both broad discovery searches and highly specific searches. This allows us to understand how users naturally search for opportunities, whether the filters and search fields make sense, and what information you would expect to see when exporting results.

throughout the beta we will be monitoring search behaviour and refining the engine, so you may begin to see improvements in results during the two-week testing period.

What are we testing?

For this beta we'd like you to explore:

  • Search filters and parameters

  • Quality and relevance of results

  • The usefulness of the master research brief

  • Whether EventsBid surfaces opportunities you would normally find through manual research or current tools

Current Limitations

Due to the complexity of training that needs to take place of the system, we have initially focused on Association conferences/congresses and meetings.

The search discovery for corporates, trade shows, incentives and trade fairs will be expanded after we better understand our user needs and expectations.

​

Beta searches may return a limited number of results. We encourage you to save your test searches and re-run them regularly during the beta phase. Each time you re-run a saved search, only previously unseen results will appear. 

​

This has been done with purpose as we understand it's not possible to pursue multiple leads at one time. This means that the information being provided in the search results is current at the time of the search.

​

This beta is testing logic and discovery rather than the completeness of the database.

How to test EventBid Beta

  • Run searches that you would normally conduct in your role.

  • Try both specific and broad searches.

  • For beta, use the association event typography for more accurate results.

  • Use multiple geographical filters.

  • Track opportunities.

  • Export the results.

  • Save your searches and run them multiple times to test the new results.

  • Review the results and ask:

    1. Are these the types of events I expected?​​

    2. Are there events missing that I know should be included?

    3. Are any results clearly irrelevant?

  • Tell us if the results are excellent.

  • Tell us if the results are irrelevant?

  • Tell us what you expected to see but did not?

  • Did the search logic and search fields make sense or is there something missing?

  • What improvements would make this a valuable tool to reduce your current search functions?
